Take away : UnknownLe Bar de La Marine, a true institution in Marseille, is a restaurant with excellent ratio quality-price where reign the soul of Marcel Pagnol, Marius, Fanny and César, particularly animated on weekend evenings.
It is indeed in that location that were shot the outdoor scenes of the famous trilogy of Marcel Pagnol and the bar, with its decorations of the 20s, its Mediterranean tones and its frescoes of Marseille, transcribes wonderfully the universe of the writer and filmmaker born in Aubagne.
On the terrace facing the Old Port as well as inside, you can enjoy breakfast (until 11am) or choose a dish from those of the day. There's no carte, no pre-set menus, everything is fresh, homemade with local products. The kitchen is clearly Mediterranean, the aïoli as the fishes are the specialties of the chef.
In the evening, tapas are offered as an appetizer, which adds to the conviviality of this place quite coveted, especially on Friday and Saturday night, where the atmosphere becomes musical and festive.
All in all, a very nice address on the left bank of the Old Port, where you will not have unfortunately the opportunity to resume your account the famous replica of Marius: "You break my heart".
