Take away : UnknownLa Cita is a tapas bar in the purest Spanish tradition that appeals to a clientele of regulars enjoying the friendly atmosphere, the authenticity of products and reasonable prices.
La Cita means "The appointment" in Spanish, an ambition that Miriam and Aurélien behind the project claim loudly. Their goal? Create links and facilitate meetings. Their greatest satisfaction? See that the phone numbers are exchanged for Sunday brunch.
The traditional side also contributes to the success of the place: patatas bravas, tortilla, calamari, croquettes, Catalan bread... So many classics very important for Miriam who was born in Andorra, in a family of restaurateurs and organic farmers, with ham on the table at breakfast ...
An authentic approach that brings our restaurateurs to import their Spanish charcuterie, wine and cheese. Lucky for us because these Iberian ham, chorizo sausage or La Rioja wines are often difficult to find.
For the rest (meat, fish, fruit and vegetables), only local and ultra fresh products. Depending on availability, you would be able to order St Jacques or octopus.
The classic tapas range from € 3.5 to € 6, the portions are quite generous and two dishes are usually sufficient to fill an average appetite.
You will find some more audacieuces proposals (€ 7) based on foie gras, fresh anchovies or pickled vegetables and a variety of grilled fish and meat a la plancha (5.5 € 9.5 €). Beef kebabs are very tender and the chorizo is excellent, not too fatty and spicy just right.
The sangria (3.5 €) will be in a tone rather apple / orange and wines mainly from the La Rioja region, known for its fine productions, aromatic and balanced. For a real taste, we recommend the Monte Real 2007 vintage (5.5 € / 27 €). To live a great time, test the Gran Reserva 2004 or 2005 (6 € / 38 €).
Note finally that every Thursday you'll have a concert piano / drums / singer, bringing an extra touch to the ambient heat. You can also privatize the lower rooms, with very original decor and furnishings.
To see the crowds every night since 2011 (booking strongly recommended after 20h), the bet to implant in Aix-en-Provence a friendly traditional tapas bar seems largely won!https://www.facebook.com/pages/La-CITA/150889768319700?sk=timeline
