Sormiou is a creek apart. First because there are huts and year round residents.
At last because it is wide, there is space and a beautiful open sea
Of course, the road access is closed in summer. The trick for those who do not want to walk up and down the col (an hour long), is to have lunch in one of the two restaurants. You will have to pay for the carpark (€4).
Once satiated, and if you have an easy digestion, take the hiking path on the west to go up to the Col of Lou d’Aï, the one closest to the cap.
Once up there, beautiful terraces await you for a nap until sunset, with a view over the islands.
Otherwise for a quieter walk, choose the path on the EastSide, it will take you from huts to huts to a little harbour where you can lay your towel and enjoy the last rays of the sun. Sormiou, how sweet is life, and there is no reason for a change...
