Title in french : Samena, le spot de waterline presque parfait
City : Marseille
Long min : 25m
Long max : 70m
Waterline : yes
Longline : yes
Highline : no
Anchors : naturals
A-Frame : no
Regulation : strictThe cove of Samena offers the possibility to install waterlines from 25m to 70m on natural anchors, a spot to avoid on busy days.
The creek is indeed very popular with bathers who come to lock on the tiny beach or on its edges. The fine summer days, too many people is in the water to allow a safe practice.
The longest line has beautiful anchors about fifty meters from the beach on the left bank, and sixty meters on the right bank. Take at least 6 meters slings left and 3 meters on the other side. Think about back-up and protection as the rock is very abrasive.
The shortest line (3m slings, protection, back-up) will be closer to the beach, to avoid even more when there are crowds.
Especially since the regulation is not favorable. The spot is on the edge of the National Park where the slackline is not yet permitted. Contacts are made by local associations to move forward on this issue and get agreements to some sites.
It would be indeed difficult to understand that eventually, a so natural practical couldn't be expressed in our calanques, when the conditions of safety and respect for the environment are met.
Or course, Samena's not safe at 100% for slackers because all the black areas are filled with industrial waste and toxic substances: arsenic, lead, zinc, copper, cadmium ...
The outdoors and sports, nothing better for your health!
